Worship
Christian worship joyfully ascribes all praise and honor, glory and power to the triune God. In worship the people of God acknowledge God present in the world and in their lives. As they respond to God’s claim and redemptive action in Jesus Christ, believers are transformed and renewed. In worship the faithful offer themselves to God and are equipped for God’s service in the world. (from the “Book of Order” of the Presbyterian Church (USA))
Worship is the first and primary thing we do at Titusville Presbyterian. Each week at 9:30 a.m., we gather as one people to hear the Bible read and its words interpreted for our lives today. We sing—a lot! From standard Presbyterian hymns, to ancient and modern Psalms, to choruses from the world church, we offer our voices in joyful praise. We pray—for one another and the world. We ask God’s forgiveness for our shortcomings and our sins so that we may move beyond our pasts into a new and better future. And we share in the Lord’s Supper—every month. Everyone who has been baptized, regardless of denominational affiliation, is welcome to join with us, as one people, as we eat the bread and drink of the cup that by the Holy Spirit draws us closer to Jesus Christ.
Children and their families are always welcome at worship. As Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them.”
